Commissions
Commission an original piece
Straight Jacket accepts a limited number of commissions, original, one-of-one work for a specific space, not a print or a reproduction. This applies to individual collectors and to professional spaces, offices, corporate interiors, hospitality environments, and other commercial or institutional settings, where the project is a good fit for the work.
The process
- 01
Inquiry
Share the project below, the space it's for, any reference material, and a sense of scale.
- 02
Consultation
Jason replies directly to talk through the idea, the space, and what's realistic for the timeline and budget in mind.
- 03
Concept & approval
Once the direction is set, the piece is built the same way as everything else in the catalog: fast charcoal foundations, built up over days or weeks.
- 04
Creation & delivery
The finished piece is hand-signed, with a Certificate of Authenticity for certificate-eligible work, and shipped or hand-delivered in the Pittsburgh area.
Pricing & timeline
Pricing depends on size, materials, and the scope of the piece, Jason doesn't publish a flat commission rate since every project is different. Share what you have in mind below and you'll hear back directly with real numbers. Timeline works the same way, it depends on scope and the current queue, and you'll get an honest estimate once the project is understood.
What to include
The more specific, the better: the space it's going in and its dimensions, any reference images or a subject in mind, a sense of the feel you're after, and a timeline if you have one. None of it needs to be final, this is the starting point for the conversation, not a form to get exactly right.
For businesses & spaces
Interior designers, architects, and hospitality businesses sourcing original work for a space, residential, commercial, or hospitality, are welcome to reach out. Since each piece is one-of-one, availability and lead time vary by project, share what you're looking for below and you'll hear back with what's possible. For press or partnership inquiries instead, see the press kit.
